Bison have to be one of the best subjects for black and white photography. Bison are powerful, majestic, and intelligent animals. You can tell there's a lot of wisdom trapped beneath their thick fur and pointed horns.
This is one of the most fortunate images we have ever taken. We were photographing the gorgeous light-rays that were cascading through the Tetons mountain range, when this lone Bison came over the hill and walked right into frame. Probably a once in a lifetime experience, but one that I am thrilled we were able to capture.
The images in this series are equal parts modern and rustic, and were created with modern interior design in mind. We intentionally use very high ISOs to create the appearance of film grain, and add texture and warmth to each image. Images in this series are printed in small, fine art editions of 35 for prints 24x36 and over, and editions of 100 for prints 20x30 and under. Prints come on museum grade photographic paper for superior fade resistance.
