Scottish Highland Cattle | Black and White Photogaphy

This is a collection of fine art, black and white photographs of Scottish Highland Cattle. These shaggy cows originated from the Highland regions and Hebrides islands of Scotland. Their unique shaggy hair that makes them ideal for the cold wet climates of Scotland, also give them their endearing "bow-band" appearance. 

We intentionally use very high ISOs to create the appearance of film grain, and add texture and warmth to each image. These images are equal parts modern and rustic, and were created with modern interior design in mind. Images in this series are for sale in small, fine art editions of 35 for prints 24x36 and over, and editions of 100 for prints 20x30 and under. Prints come on museum grade photographic paper for superior fade resistance.

Behind the Images

My images ride the line between reality and story, however, it is very important to me that every image I create is 100% real. We never use any compositing or digital additions. Just like an old Hollywood set, we create each scene using real people, real props, and real cameras. Most of my images feature close family and friends, which make them even more fun to create. My images feature my grandpa as the astronaut, my wife as the cowgirl, and my brother as the cowboy– along with many other friends and family members.
