The original concept that started our astronaut series was to run with the play on words between "Buzz Aldrin" and "Happy Hour" and entitle an image "Buzzed."
We didn't know if an image like this was going to be possible, because the prospects of finding a realistic looking Apollo astronaut suit seemed slim. However, we ended up finding a suit that we were able to rent from a Hollywood prop company. The suit had been used in countless movies-- including The First Man. The prop house was not accustomed to working with small independent artists like us, and were rather wary of renting such a high value suit to us. They requested that we take out insurance on the full replacement value of the suit, in excess of $80,000. An expensive policy for sure, but we had to see our vision come to life.
Once we secured the suit, my Grandpa was kind enough to tag along and offered to model it for us. With a martini in hand, Buzzed was born, and started an entire series that we are having too much fun with. Buzzed - Edition of 35
